The Best Gift: A Baby Papasan Swing

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

One of my cousins gave birth to a baby girl ten months ago. Among my cousins she is the first to get married and have a baby. That is why we are very excited to see our first niece. My dad told me to buy something for the baby when we visited them. We decided to buy a Baby Papasan Swing since the baby will be big enough and we thought that the baby will absolutely like it.

On the day of our visit, we asked my cousin to open the gift. After they found what our gift was, they were a bit hesitant in using it because they thought that their daughter maybe too young for it. However, we explained to them that Baby swings are very helpful and safe especially for a child her age. After realizing what we said, they tried it on their baby. The baby absolutely liked and enjoyed it. She never cried while on the swing; instead, she just laughed the whole day.

One week after, my cousin called me just to say that she really liked our gift to her baby. She never saw her baby smile and laugh that hard. At the end of our conversation, she thanked us for the wonderful gift we gave our niece.

Double Bathroom Vanities: Saving Grace

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

I am sharing a bathroom with my sister. Being the eldest, she always gets what she wants. When we started going to high school, that place is where the usual fighting begins. Our fights are not about our own stuff but on the things we use in the bathroom. Because of our usual bathroom fights our parents decided to renovate our bathroom and build double bathroom vanities. They said that it will solve our problems since we are two growing adolescents.

The decision our parents made is one of the best decisions they ever made. Our fights began to lessen and my sister and I become much closer. I remember my parents sharing it on one of their marriage encounter seminars that it was a bathroom vanity that saved our relationship. She even recommended it to her friends who have the same situation we had before. I know its lame but it really saved our friendship as sisters. I even joked my mom about it every time she and dad got into a fight: they should just get a bathroom vanity too. And, they will laugh but I know it makes sense. Sometimes, a simple thing can really be a big change for something. For us, it’s a bathroom vanity.

The Probable Solution: Asphalt Plant Equipment

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

Our professor grouped our class into five. After that, he asked us to search for possible problems and solutions that can be found in our community. At the end of the semester, we should come up with a portfolio and a presentation stating our chosen problem and our proposed solutions.

My group brainstormed and chose construction as our focus problem. We decided to focus on road and building construction because we believe that it is very important for our community to have well-constructed roads and buildings that will help boost our economy.

In gathering our data, we interviewed several people and some officials regarding the current status of road and building construction in our area. We also observed the roads and buildings ourselves. We found out that several roads and several buildings are in need of repairs. According to one engineer, the only way to solve this problem is by using Asphalt Plant Equipment. This will help in surfacing the roads, roofing and flooring. Our proposed solutions are: to advice the city officials to avail of the services of a company that can provide the materials and equipment. Second is to help in the funding by using events such as food sales, variety shows and the like. Lastly, people in the community can help in the construction of roads and building by volunteering as one of the workers.

My Personal Way in Choosing the Best Waterproof Digital Cameras

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

In buying a digital camera, one must read lots of reviews from professional photographers. Since there are so many cameras that has been introduced in the market, choosing the best kind of camera will certainly take time. This situation also applies in choosing the best waterproof digital cameras. Since not all digital cameras are waterproof, it is better for you to choose the Best Waterproof Digital Cameras that you can find.

The most common and trusted names in Waterproof Digital Cameras are Olympus, Nikon and Canon. To personally know the difference, I tried using one of each.

First is I tried the Olympus Camera, the results are pictures that are a little blurred and saving a picture takes quite a while. Second is the Nikon camera, the results are pictures that are slightly darker and the picture color fades when it is saved in a memory card. Last is the Canon Camera, the results are pictures that are taken in good color; however, it is not user-friendly–a beginner must really know how to use this camera.

The conclusion after trying the three waterproof digital cameras, I found out that to capture a great image does not solely depend on one’s camera but more from the one behind the lens. Why did I say that? Because my brother took pictures of his own and they were by far better than mine!

The Accidental Scarecrow Sprinklers Ad

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

Few weeks ago, my friend, Ria invited me to spend Thanksgiving on her grandparents’ farm. Since my parents are out of the country, I gave in. I mean, who wants to spend Thanksgiving alone, right? On our way to her Grand parents’ farm, I imagined myself living in a farm: What would life be or what would I basically do?

Upon arriving, I met Ria’s grandfather who just came from the rice plantation. By looking at his face, you would know that there was something bothering him. Ria said that maybe the harvest wasn’t that good or maybe some animals destroyed the rice field.
While browsing the Internet, an ad popped out of my computer and it was about the Scarecrow Sprinklers that can prevent animals from trespassing in an area. I told Ria about the ad and the following day, we told Ria’s grandfather to buy those Sprinklers because it can prevent animals from raiding their rice field and it is eco-friendly. A few days after, one of their workers went to the market to buy one.

A few weeks later, I received a letter from Ria’s grandfather expressing his thanks for telling him about the Sprinklers. It was by pure accident that I saw the ad, by I’m glad it was able to help them a lot.
